I had an email from Judith a while ago. She has gotten her legs back under her and has not stopped since. I miss hearing from her on a regular basis, though!

Thanks for asking about her. I will email this weekend and let her know she is missed.

every time Syd goes to the doctor they are so excited that she is in the 75-80 percentile for height and act like it is a really big deal. My oldest was always above 90 and my second almost as high so it is no big deal to me and we consider her our peanut, being the youngest and 8 does mean she is the shortest in the house nut she seems smaller then the girls at the same age. ( I’m only 5′ 7″, but hubby is 6′ 5″)

Intellegent? I was near the top of my class my entire school life (but I liked school & had parents who are/were relatively intellegent).

Short? I’m about 5′8″ (tall for a female), but again, it could be attributed to genetics (both sides of the family have very tall males, females are hit & miss).

Depression? Yeah, that one I can see. Luckily, I have been able to fight that one well.

Hey…has anyone heard from Jenny lately??? I hope she’s feeling better!!!! Jenny….yooo hoooo…….you out there?? Let us know how school is going!!!! < KATE GREENE

Some of the things I was told:

Diabetics are usually more intelligent…..( my thoughts, they have to be to regulate themselves)
Intelligent I agree with….this group is a testament of it

Diabetics are usually short ???

Diabetics (written in a book) are usually depressed because of thier ongoing illness????

I have noticed that only nine people have voted on Jeff’s poll about how long we have had diabetes. I am curious as to who has had this disease the longest. Jeff included a choice for 75 years. If anyone on this group has had diabetes for that long or knows of someone that has had it for that long, then my hat is off to you. I salute you. That is an amazing feat of determination. I hope that we all make it that long.

The polls don’t include anything about being a parent or caregiver of a diabetic. Becky has been diabetic since Sept 2000

Hello from So. Ca. Both my husband and I are diabetics. He is
insulin dependent. I was recently diagnosed. We have a 3 yr old
Daughter. I look forward to learning more about this condition.
