Thanks, Carlos, and Elizabeth, and everyone. By the way, that was a
typo in my earlier email. I am type I, 1, one, not type II. Must have
hit a snag in my carpal tunnel.
:-)

Hi, Carlos,
I'm a 43 year old type II diabetic, for 28 years. I hadn't heard
about this connection between carpal tunnel syndrome and IDDM. I'd be
interested in any more info you have about it.
I'm a software engineer in Silicon Valley. I think things will turn
around for you. This industry has always, always been boom and bust.
We just had one of the biggest booms in history, and we're already
coming out of the bust. I know it's easy to say relax, but I truly
believe what I'm telling you.
Good luck,
Jerry

Ha - I do have a bunch of alcoholics for relatives but don't drink myself.
Just don't like it much.
Yeah - I got some of that too. I am a System Administrator by trade so I
have to work on the computers. I use a special mouse that looks like a
joystick but is really just a mouse. It is called the Renaissance Mouse
and is made by 3M. I think it is tied in with having IDDM for 38 years and
a little neuropathy in the arms but I don't know the details. I think I
saw somewhere that carpal tunnel was common in IDDM. Good luck with the
operation. Can I ask - how bad is the Carpal Tunnel? Was there a way to
avoid it? Any recommendations? Know any good websites for it?
Don't have a family - how about you?
I live in the Silicon Valley near San Jose and San Francisco. Where I got
laid off twice in 2001 and am still looking for work. Discrimination is
fierce and blatant against anyone over 40 in the IT industry. And there
are few jobs anyway.
<!--more-->
Sorry about that. It must be tough. Hey does anyone have a good area to
recommend as one that has good employment and a good place to live? In
other words - where are the jobs?
Take care,
Carlos
