Hi,
I’ve been a type 1 diabetic for 28 years. I’m currently using NPH and
Humalog, but I got a MiniMed Paradigm pump yesterday! Can’t wait to
start using it.
Can you tell us more about yourself? My A1cs have been around 7 most
of the time. How about you?

Welcome to the group! How old were you when you were diagnosed? Do
you have any tips?

2? Hope you’re doing OK. Talk to you soon!!

HI
My name is Peri,
I am a 22 yr old female from Canberra, Australia.
I was diagnosed with Type 1 Diabetes on New Years Eve 2002.
So i am still pretty new to all this.
I’m on insulin injections 2 times a day and bsl’s 4 times a day.
I was only in hospital for 2 days, which wasnt long enough really.

Hi,
I’m not sure if I’ve found the right place, but I’ve been looking for
an online support group for a while.
About a month ago I was hospitalized in DKA. I had been using an
insulin pump, but my doc talked to an endocrinologist who told her
that is a pump failure. So I’ve been trying to get settled on
humalog and lantus.
I’m really struggling to cope. I want to throw my syringes, insulin
and log book as far as humanly possible. I want to forget that this
disease even exists.
That’s all I’ll say for now….maybe I’ll post more later.

Jenny-
I’m new here, myself, and I’m dealing with my 13-year-old daughter
who was just diagnosed with TypeI diabetes. She is also on Humalog
and Lantus. I understand the feeling of wanting to throw this whole
difficulty into the ocean. In my case, I wish it were *me* having
to deal with it and not my daughter. How long have you had
diabetes? How long were you on the pump? Don’t feel like you have
to answer, but I would be interested and I just wanted you to know I
care. Please write back if you feel like it. In the meantime, I’ll
keep you in my thoughts and prayers.

Good Morning Jack,
8 O How does a pump work for you son, given his job? (Wondering how the tubing could possibly withstand the heat of walking into burning buildings, even with all the equipment, etc.)
Wow.
