dawn rise

Any ideas besides the pump to address “dawn rise”? I’m waking with BGs
in the 130s and 140s. Trying to get pregnant, so do NOT like those
numbers. Currently on NPH (10 in am/ 12 at bedtime), humalog to cover
meals (count carb generally, use 1.5u/15g carb). Lantus is not an
option with my endo b/c of trying to conceive. If I exercise in the
evenings it just gets worse the next morning. I am in the process of
pursuing a pump…insurance hassles at the moment.
Suggestions?
