		<description>Yes, stress alone can cause high blood sugars, but any kind of
illness will definately do it. This is actually one way diabetes has
been good for us (every cloud....LOL). One time, my son's BG's were
really high for a couple of days, his peak flows (an asthma test)
were ok. His temp was fine. He said he felt fine. Then the ketones
started, so I took him in to the doc. He had an ear infection AND
strep! We would never have caught it before it got really serious if
it weren't for the diabetes. We have a standard sliding insulin scale
for when he is spilling ketones, which he always does when he gets
sick. Please forgive any misspellings- I am just coming off work at
the hospital, and have now been up for 25 hours LOL.

Yes, stress and any sort of illness can definitely affect your blood sugars.  I heard that sometimes when your sick you require more insulin.  Check with your doctor on this.  Hope your feeling better soon.
