		<description>Thank you soooo much Melissa!!!
My son was also diagnosed just a few weeks after he turned 6. I didn't realize you were the one who started the group! So thank you!!!!
I live in the Northeast, in NY, near Albany so the Nile virus is bad here in the summer which makes me worry. I already kept them in past dark or at dusk but when we went to a friend's camp it was right on the river and it was mosquito heaven! I'm just worried about places like that especially now. But they have those diabetes camps, so I guess they don't worry.
We dont' use babysitters either but we do swap with friends who I trust which works out great. I just have to teach them what to do about Bryan's lows and how to deal with those.
I just spoke with one of the diabetes educators and she said the highs don't have any damage on kids until they hit puberty. Has anyone ever heard that before? She said they have some type of protective barrier. So that's nice to know!
Anyway, thanks so much for your support!!

Benita, attachment style parenting advocate and home educator to 3 children (12, 9½, and 6, dx with diabetes), going on our 7th year now, living in upstate NY.
A mother can never be perfect BUT there are a million things she can do to be a great Mommy! ô¿ô

Say NO to routine infant circumcision because it isn't necessary!!

		<description>Susan,
Thanks so much! It's so nice that other moms feel my pain!!!! LOL It's nice to know others are in the same thing as me! So thank you!! My son is only 6, so sad for me to go thru this!!! I lost my first baby, also a boy (at 2 weeks from arteriovenus malformation which is a cluster of blood vessels that burst in his brain) so I've always felt that my other 3 kids should be perfectly healthy but my dd had all kinds of problems with her kidneys the beginning of the year and now my son diagnosed with diabetes!!!!! I feel like this just shouldn't be happening!!!!!! Grrr!! But I have accepted it....

		<description>Benita,
My daughter is 17 and was just diagnosed a couple of months ago too. We are in the honeymoon period and it freaks me out too. She gets really low sometimes and then high. It's gonna take some time to adjust to all of this. She's got the pump papers filled out and we are just holding on until she gets on the pump. I "think" things will be easier then. I'm sorry I'm not any help, but I feel your pain!
