question about proteinuria

My son is 13 and was diagnosed last June with type 1 diabetes. His
Hgb A1c has gone from 14 to 6.6 and he has lost 25 pounds. LAst week
a routine visit showed he was spilling prtein in his urine. THe Dr
ordered a microalbumin test on his urine yesterday and we have not
yet heard any results. Does anyone have any past experience with
protein in the urine. I know that this is a sign of kidney damage.
Any feedback is appreciated.

    I have been just lurking for the last couple of months. I don’t have time to introduce myself right now as we are on our way out for a birthday supper.

    Does anyone know the carb count on the Dairy Queen ice cream cakes? I have it for the 8″ but am looking for it on the 10″. I haven’t had any luck guestimating it for my son and am pretty anal about these things. If someone could help, I would greatly appreciate it!!

    That is a great idea. I don’t have the 8″ though, I wonder if I could call Dairy Queen and see if they have a scale that they could weigh it on.

    This is one of my pet peeves with companies that can’t seem to provide the nutritional info on all of their products. Again, because I am anal.
