Thanks For all the advice you gave
We have tried to keep Brian home for 2 weeks at a time and show him
how much better his bs are. But he just refuses to see it. To him
none of us now how he is feeling so we are hoping the camp will help
him see that others have it and still have a ‘normal’ life.
He use to love basketball, track and now he doesn’t do either one.
We are not sure about the shot sites. Brian only weighs 75 lbs when
we can keep weight on him (has always been skinny).
We don’t have a support group around here for kids, I tried to get
one started but had no luck with it. Not one call from kids
interested in it.
When we call and talk to the endo office they just tell us to give
him his shots and watch him. The endo is suppose to be the top in
the field and is the only one in our area. ( would have to further
than 200 miles to find another one)
The counseling has helped alittle and we have put him on Zoloft for
depression. It is hard to know how much is the normal teen stuff,
high bs, or depression.
We took him to the hospital in Nov. He weighed 64 lbs, his sugar
was over 1100. I thought it would be a wake up call for him but it
wasn’t. He doesn’t see it as life threatening for some reason.
Maybe it is just his age???
Anyway thanks for all the advice sorry to ramble on.
