Type 1 since 1975
Hi all! I’ve just joined the group and am excited to hear your input
on Type 1 diabetes. I was diagnosed in 1975 after having the measles.
No one in my family had it, not even the past generations. My mother
said it was due to having a week long fever from the measles. I was
diagnosed 6 months after having the illness. I know have 2 kids ages
12 and 7 years. Both are healthy and do not have diabetes.
Pediatrician says that it’s possible that my children will probably
not have diabetes but their children will. Do you think there is
truth in that? I do.

I’m a firm believer. My grandfather on my mom’s side & my grandmother on my dad’s side both had it. Double whammy for me. diabetic since 1977
