Am I diabetic?
Hi im new here.
I looked at a diabetic website and realised I have most symptoms of
diabetes apart from weight loss. I urinate and drink a lot, always
tired, sometimes go all shakey and white and have a craving for
sugary things, and now my feet are hurting all the time. sometimes
I get a shock type pain in a foot, then it vanishes. I also have
problems with my stomach, with a suspected ulcer. I did a boots
home test kit today for glucose in the urine and it was negative. So
do I not have diabetes then? Im a bit confused. Ill probably go
see the doc anyway but cant get an apointment for a few weeks. any
info appreciated!

Hi Nic, If I was you, I would see a dr. immediately. The shock pains in your feet could be nerve damage of some type, not always diabetic. Only a qualified physician can evaluate you and diagnose what’s going on. You do not always spill glucose in your urine when you are diabetic. You may be having high sugars but not enough for it to spill into your urine. I hope you can get to a doctor sooner than a few weeks. A minor emergency clinic can at least do a blood test on you to check. Go to them, tell them your symptoms and what you suspect, they will treat you if needed. At least then you won’t be waiting for a long time to find out. Keep us updated!
Take care,
Carol
