Hey, Kate!

We can make them all cringe together! I don't use alcohol with injections or glucose tests, either. Been doing it that way for years and have had no bad consequences. I put my Novolog in R & L stomach & L thigh (R thigh reacts badly.....itching terrible for hours afterwards), Lantus goes in the buttocks. Of course, any opportunity to show the docs that we know what we are doing is a good thing, right?

Yall are not going to like this, but here goes....I can & will give myself an injection through light clothing, if necessary-dulls, the needle and probably injects some of the fiber thru skin. But I was told it is persmissable. I do not use alcohol before or after, and have never had a problem. I don't rotate. Use my stomach, L and R for humalog injections and buttocks for Lantus at night L & R.-sometimes thru pajamas.

Oh Judith, how funny was that - not 1, but 2 injecting in public. Sight to see and how the public kept a muffle on that if beyond me.

Jeff,

I suppose I shouldn't tell you what I call going to the lab for a blood draw, then? <evil grin

Stacy

Morning Again Stacy,

<<Maybe it is just my twisted sense of humor, or that I have been doing this for so long,but I actually refer to my glucose tests as my "daily blood-lettings". LOL.

<ROFLMAO

<Massive sigh

<!--more-->
<Jeff slowly, gently knocking his head on the monitor, in suppressed contempt & disgust recollection of such I.B.M (idiot- *astard-morons) amateurs

<Knowing what other diabetics will think of this type of idiocy

PS. In the experience of the group, is it meaningfully harder (IYHE) (in your humble experiences) to be required to use a shot rather than a pen in such restaurant (public) situations? Does that method change the entire scenario/dynamic, for folks <s

Thoughts,

Jeff
