RE; Re;pump/Diana
just the needle that goes in (then comes out). I called Disetronic
today, and they make an 8 mm canula. I use the 10 mm. My next
order will be the 8 mm. You didn’t gain weight from the pump? I
gained about 10 lbs. I was able to lower my basal rates, and now my
weight is steady. But I am not a big person. I’ve been on the
pump for about 5 years now. I think when I get the 8 mm, this won’t
happen again. Thanks Diana
I am glad you are getting a shorter canula, I hope it helps.
Before I got my pump I was on a roller coaster with the bloodsugar.
I hated having to eat when not hungry or not getting to eat if I
was. I think all the food I had to eat to cover the long acting
insulin and to cover all those lows kept me heavier. I lost 10 lbs
in the first few months and then leveled off. I know that some go
gain either from being able to eat all those goodies without a
change in bloodsugar or from being able to eat a normal healthy
amount of food that used to raise bloodsugar. I think it’s different
for everyone.
I used to have really severe lows in the middle of the night.
One time it took three amps of glucose to bring me around. This is
now a thing of the past. I am really grateful for the inventor of
the pump. It has changed my life.
