Hi, I’m new.
I just wanted to say hello to everyone and introduce myself. I
didn’t even know there were any message boards relating to diabetes
and this is 2nd that I’ve found! It’s so great because I don’t know
anyone else with this disease so it’s hard to talk to anyone about
it. Anyway, I am a 23 female and was dianosed with type 1 when I was
11 years old. It’s always been sort of a sruggle for me so I am
hoping that by chatting with others going through this I may find
some solutions to my problems and maybe make some friends along the
way.

Hi Lisa, thanks for the welcome. If you don’t mind me asking, what’s
the pump like? I’ve heard that it’s a lot easier but is it really
notiable and/or uncomfortable?

Hey Jess, it does sound like we’re in similar situations. If there
had been others to talk to about this growing up with this disease
would have been a lot easier! That’s great that you’ve had the
opportunity to meet with others and discuss having this disease and
the pains that go along with it.
I am not familiar with NovoRapid or Insulatard, I guess we don’t have
those here in the US(or I have just never heard of them–which is
very possible) I use NPH(the long acting insulin–which I do not like
very much at all) 2x/day and Humulog for coverage when I eat carbs.
Are you familar with these?
