IMHO there is no “right”.. you work with the number you get, now. After 3 days hopefully you get a pattern. But you’ve been the same paths anyone our age has been. You probably remember when testing was done with urine (8 D. (I wish that had worked, I truly do,,,,,)
What kinds of things are happening? Lantus as you know doesn’t cover the promised 24 hrs… Mine lasts a total of 20 hrs. +/- and the research is pretty clear now that happens for most. They are reformulating the mixture, and are supposed to be coming out with a mixable short acting some point the next year too. My Md is trying to convince me to try novolog, simply because that pen doesn’t have the design flaw the Humalog pen does (requires excessive pressure to be certain to get the last few units out). Humalog doesn’t last quite as long either….
