I know what they will say, and I don't agree with them. All I need from them is the script. My sugars have dropped when I was driving, and I will NOT take that risk with my kids in the car. My sugars will stay high, by my choice, so I don't kill my family in one horrific second due to the lower level of conciousness related to hypoglycemia. If psychotic patients are free to refuse their meds, and then, (only a select few do this, I realize), go out and commit a heinous crime, that's fine. I have the same right to refuse meds. Even if you have something in writing from a physician that says you are diabetic, you should be able to get it. I made sure when I was diagnosed that my dr. wrote a note stating I was Type 1 and the insulin I would need. Hope this helps. Also, I'd turn in your doctor for refusing you to the AMA. That is just plain wrong of him to do.
