In the short amount of time of being a member, there has been some very good advice as well as some challenges to my beliefs.... not all of them bad, either. Acually, sometimes I, personally, need a good challenge to get my act together. What makes you think your kidneys are up to no good? Are you spilling more protein than usual? Not processing the water you intake as much as you previously did? (Polite way to ask if you are peeing less....) Drinking enough water? Have you had your creatinine level checked lately (this may be done by blood or urine sample)? BUN (blood urea nitrogen)? (That's a liver function test). Just FYI, if your creatinine goes up independently of your BUN it would indicate your kidneys may have an issue. If your BUN goes up without creatinine going up, it MAY be dehydration, which could also affect your kidneys, making your urine more concentrated. To summarize, if you have not had a serum creatinine and BUN done recently, it may be a good idea to ask for them. If nothing is going on, it will at least decrease your level of anxiety, and therefore reduce your glucose levels since stress makes our sugars go up. Again, welcome to the group. Joan Lasny,
