		<description>Hi Tina
I carry my Humalog with me all the time, and I have never had a problem with
it "going bad". I've carried it on a hiking trail where the temperature
reached 45 degrees C and still no problem. I believe Lantus can lose some of
it's effectiveness after a period of time, but have yet to experience that
(I don't carry Lantus around with me, but I don't refrigerate it either,
after it's open - it lives in a drawer next to my bed).
Regards

<description>Insulin once opened does not need to be refrigerated, but dispose it after 28-30 days. After my run in with the pharmacist I emailed my nurse practitioner and he verified the info I am quoting now.

Thanks for sharing!
