<description>Robby, I want you to know that you can read all the books in the
 world (
I have always been an avid reader of medical news and worked around
diabetics for years), but what the physicians never tell is that
 having
Diabetes is similar to Hypertension. It can silently destroy your
 organs
without you ever knowing it, whether you are in good control or not.
 No
matter what the treatment, it is still an incurable disease. Disease
meaning: This isn't going to go away!
My brother was a diabetic for a long time and unaware of it. He died
suddenly of a heart attack. The death certificate reads Coronary
 Artery
Disease secondary to Diabetes Mellitis. He was only 33 years old.
 &lt;!--more--&gt;
Over time, it taxes the body and makes you more susceptible to
 infection
and illness and blindness. Also, has anyone ever told you when you
have 'lows', you are destroying brain cells? I'm sure you must have
 read
that. After all, from what I have gathered, you are very well versed.
I doubt it. There is a whole host of information offered on this site.
There is also an extreme amount of caring people who care enough to
 take
time out of their day to write in with questions, answers, or
 problems that
they are experiencing. That alone, no book can tell you. There is
nothing better than hearing the truth straight from the horse's
 mouth! I
 guarantee it!
 Carol
P.S. Your personal care may run cheap but the loss of your life is
 costly.
loss of my life? why? i am not dying! gees! this group is full of
people who think that just because they have diabetes they are
destined to get all kinds of problems and croak. maybe i will find a
group where the people know the truth. that just because you have
diabetes, doesnt mean you're going to croak or get complications. if
your so sure people are automatically going to get problems, how come
i've talked to so many people who have had this for 30 or more years
and havent had any problems? also, you arent understanding that i
have god. he watches over me. he will make sure i never get any of
those problems. if your brother didnt know he was a diabetic and
didnt get treatment, i'm not surprised something happened to him. my
heart if totally healthy. gosh dang man, you act as if its impossible
to prevent bad things from happening. they heck it is! my grandma had
 it and lived to 74!
