I know, strange topic. But, I am wondering if any other diabetics are immune to mosquito bites? The things land on me, take one swig and say, “EW, GROSS!” I will experiment this summer when my sugars are controlled. If I get bitten, then I will attribute the immunity to them to be related to sugar levels. Hey, I hear a thesis paper here…..
It is sadistically pleasant to see everyone else running for cover in the deep woods of Michigan every year when we go, and I just stand there and ask, “Whu?” : )
Whatever it is in my blood, I wish I could find it and market it.
Judith, don’t you burn all the calories you will potentially consume dressing the doves and squirrels? Kinda like a feast of bluegills.
I have the same problem! I also have far worse reaction to those bites….huge welts, itches bad enough to need benadryl instead of just using bite relief gel/ointments. Drives me CRAZY!! I’ve found that the Repel brand repellent works best for me. Comes in pump spray, not aerosol.

My daughter gets bit way more then the rest of our family, and she is the only diabetic in our family.
She even gets more spider bites then the rest of us as well.
