fruit smoothie
i made a strawberrie smoothie this morning and it was good…i was
very surprised. after my diabetic friend died, i have been thinking
about what i can do differently to take better care of myself. my
A1c is 6.2…so my diabetes is doing great. but my body needs some
work. so i am going to start working out again with a good friend
of mine. she got on me about working out, and i started the day
with eating right. my breakfast smoothie= 6oz. light vanilla yogurt
(80 calories, 12 carbs, 6 proteins) 2/3 cup frozen strawberries
thawed (50 calories, 13 carbs, 0 protein) 2 scoopes whey protein
vanilla flavored (80 calories, 1 carb, 16 proteins) so my totals
for my great smoothie: 210 calories, 26 carbs and 22 proteins. i
used stevia sweetener, it is suppose to be good for diabetes,
something wuth release of insulin and body fat. i dont know i just
use it because it is suppose to better for diabetics. it can be
ordered online, but it is costly, like $6.99 for 100 packets. i am
looking up why stevia is good for you. HERE IT IS: Stevia is an
herb that is thirty times sweeter than regular sugar and does not
raise blood sugar levels like other sweeteners can. Judith what do
you know about this? Aren’t you an herbal guru? Stevia PlusTM is
enhanced with fructooligosaccharides (FOS) that are known as “pre-
biotics” or substances that nourish friendly bacteria in the system.
These friendly bacteria can help control yeast and Candida. Stevia
PlusTM contains no:Saccharin, Aspartame, Refined sugar,
MaltodextrinFructose, Artificial sweeteners of any kind. ok enough
about stevia. have a good day. jennifer

I’ve seen the infomercial, but haven’t had the time to chase it down. Ah the joys of not having a car.

I talked with a friend who is getting the book. Her daughter was diagnosed with Krones (spelling?) and we met at the hospital when Syd was diagnosed type 1. It is supposed to be a book to help cure all auto immune diseases.
I asked to read it when she was done if she thought it was worth it. I’ll let you know!

Judith,
I have seen the informercial, too. They make it sound like they have a book of cures and txs to use in place of what is offerred medically. I almost purchased the book but found a website that compared that book with some others. All Trudeau’s book does is to point out the political maneuvers by insurance companie and drug companies and other large businesses that benefit from peoples’ illnesses. There are no real “cures” presented in the book. It is only an incendiary device for our tempers to change the system, and not one to supply us with remedies.
Personally, to use a very base and rather offensive term, but a very accurate one, I think that sucks. The book goes for approximately $30 plus shipping on ebay and half.com. Phooey on that.
