I feel so bad!

Today was so hard on my little boy. He asked grama to give his shot for dinner, so she agreed. She helps with his shots all of the time. Well he flinched or moved as she put the needle in and the needle came out of his arm. So needless to say she had to give him another shot. Then at his snack time shot I ended up doing the same thing. I felt horrible. Its bad enough to have to give them three shots a day but this time he got five because of a little oops.

Can someone tell me anything about insulin pens? Are they any easier to use then the traditional syringe and are they more painful or less painful? Please let me know.

Thanks

I know how you feel. Before Becky started doing her own shots, there were a few times I made her cry. When she started, I started..

Becky went on the pen this past August, and we love them. You don’t have to measure out the dose in a syringe, With the pen, you prime it, then shoot the dose. Otherwise, it’s basically the same as a syringe. As to more or less painful, it should be about the same, Becky hasn’t said one way or the other. She does her shots in her tummy, says it doesn’t hurt as bad as in the arm or leg.

Let me know if this helps
