Job Related Question

Tuesday, November 29th, 2005

Hi all,
Just curious if diabetes has affected anyone’s job? Did anyone have
to change occupations or quit due to the way diabetes affected
them…? Or, did they change their routine and let the bosses in on
the situation?

checking the sugar

Wednesday, November 23rd, 2005

Hello Brian,

<<Its almost a perversion! ……. Well I guess that it is time for this ol’ pervert to “do the deed”!

ALMOST…. <stifled speech

Man…….if…if we were NOT diabetics and tried this stuff (blood testing)… they’d lock us away for 72 hours for involentary commitment in a little padded room, JUST to make sure we were not a danger to ourselves!!!!!

As for “doing the deed”… be careful…. it has consequences brother… ; )

Watch out some of the ladies are looking for an experiment it seems…. <ggg

How low CAN we go…

Tuesday, November 22nd, 2005

Good Morning Lori,

<<I wonder about how low I have gone.

This is the part where we ALL do the “secret handshake” Lori….

I will never tell….

<Mischevious wink

I’ve heard tell mind you of readings in the teens and folks not feeling it at all. Its the whole relativity factor.

If “normal” for me were in the 250 range (relax its not, but hypothetically if it were…), and that’s where I stayed normally, a sudden drop to 100 might FEEL like I was 50 becaue I had a HUGE shift, a drop in the sugars.

Whereas if my “normal” range was I don’t know… say 100 that same number drop would kill me….

“Amorous” Events and Sugar…

Monday, November 21st, 2005

Morning Carol, Kate

<Wistful Sigh

<<Kate, I never thought to check my sugar before as you call it ‘amorous’, since it’s a cardiac workout, I would think it benefits.

Hey, now THIS kind of low, I’m happy to experience <ggg

Anybody beside me have… “events” that would make hysterical funny stor(ies)… among friends of course :

Anybody dare

Alcohol/Dance

Thursday, November 17th, 2005

Tell her to smile and have fun.

As a judge for these things I personally look for the child that looks like they are having a good time and not there for other reasons. Of course ability comes in to play along with technique. But if they kids are running pretty close on scoring the child with the better personality/attitude wins.(and I don’t mean those stuck on cheesin grins, I hate that!)

Thanks Carol,

I think the alcohol will be saved for testing in public places to make others feel better.

Question re: the How long have you had POLL..???

Friday, November 11th, 2005

Any chance whomever created the “How long have you had diabetes
poll”, could alter/update it with another couple of categories on
the long term end?
17 years was it (???), is a long time granted but I’d like to see in
one place if that means most members (in that category) have 20
years or 40 (8::(.
Any chance the poll can still be modified that way?

not washing hands

Wednesday, November 9th, 2005

I totally agree!

I think we wash too much and then we get sick!

(not me, friends of mine)

My Grandmother said you have to eat a pound of dirt before you die and I agree. If you keep everything from baby, when they get a germ they don’t know what to do with it and get sick.

Coming in contact with germs builds up a better immunity!

Alcohol is getting thrown away!

(or probably used by people who won’t understand, like the school nurse and my dh)

Thanks for caring and sharing,

tired of doctors

Saturday, November 5th, 2005

Hi, everybody,
I have a question, am I the only one tired of doctors? I went to see
my GP yesterday. I have seen four different doctors since the
beginning of the year. At least now I am done for a while. My next
ones are in May and June. They were all very good, too. I have
another question for the medical people. Do you know which number
related to the kidneys doesn’t get better after it gets bad? I
thought it was the one the doctor kept telling me, creatin clearance,
but in Aug. it was at 22 and now it is back up to 28.
I also sympathize with Jenny. I have been fighting those feelings as
well. I am not sure if it is from being cooped up in the house
because of the cold, losing my job after twenty years, the drudgery
of diabetes, or a combination of everything. The last is my guess.
I spoke to the doctor a little about it yesterday. He asked me if I
wanted anything, and I told him no. I will try and work on it before
