I had a time when they were trying to charge me $10-20 for an online "adult" service that we weren't using.....took 4 months to get it straightened out. ]]> By: Isreal Cherry http://www.type-1-diabetes.zolushka123.com/2006/01/26/any-suggestions/#comment-4083 Isreal Cherry Thu, 02 Feb 2006 19:23:23 +0000 http://www.type-1-diabetes.zolushka123.com/2006/01/26/any-suggestions/#comment-4083 Hi i am new here i am kinda a corss between type one and two. it was funy my docotr when i saw him today had to fill out a form work comp saying what type of dibetes i have and he wanst sure here is what happond i am wondering if there is any one else out there that has had this. i was admited to the hosptiel jan 22 for a staph infection due to a work injury I was a bk amputee blelow knee from a car wreak. well i got hurt at work and fell and jamed a pecie of metel into my stump. and i pulled it out and i was still having problims so saw my doc who sent me to the ortho doc and he went in and found a peice of metel still in there. so he pulled it out. and we still had draning and fevros and such so he diedced to go back in and celan it out again and leave it open for a week well every thign was gona good and we thought we got it licked and we went back to surgery and clsoed and about 4 days later i woke up in the midel of the night throwing up and feeling like hell it the call buten to callt he nurse. and got about three words out and <!--more--> passed out the nurse hit the code butten and graben the bp machone and it wouldnt read she then grabed the manuel cough and my bp was 40 over 5 and it got lowetr the next time she read it. By this time the hole code team was there and she said to mask up becuse there is somthignwtih the infection becuse i feel like i am buring up and tok my tmep and i was 104 point somthing almost 105 well they got flueds pumping drugs pumping and got me to icu. i was semi comotose for abotu 5 days with low blood preusre and major orgian fauler becuse of septic shock when i woke up they told me they have been having to give me inslunce becuse my bllod sugers was bouncing all over while i wa sout of it but she said don't woory about it becuse we have fed you with iv food and that has lots of suger and could be cuasing it. well the trasnfed me back to surgerical so i can get well ebough for surgery to become an ak becuse the infection was in the bone and feeding the blood. well we had surgery the next day and my sugers were still boucing but they said once we get you off the iv food it shoudls triged out well a week alter they took me off that and got me onto semi rela food hopsitel food well my sugers were still boucning and they called in an expert who said well maby it is the suger in the iv flied so put me on suger free iv flued well no luck so they got me up and exerisng still no luck. so there conclusion is when my blood prsure was low for all those days it killed the pancress they no the liver had shut down duiring that and the pancress and the liver share the smae bllood supley. so at least i ma a live but i Have sufferd some amjor probs from the server shock. An orthopedic doc may be of some assistance. Try starting with your pediatrician first, for they sometimes put their finger right on it when it has perplexed me to no end. Here is just a small idea..... Has he ever seen an adult complain of sore legs/feet when shopping? What a wonderful, and, for a 5 year old, creative way of getting out of Walmart! Please, I do not mean to make light of the situation. But I also have 3 kids who get very creative when there is something THEY don't want to do. Painful legs is something to have a doc see, though.
