Ummm....Judith.....I was thinking more like 50-60 more years (or more!).....I'd like to see 100, too!!! The flying is going great. Saw my retinal specialist Friday & she is going to write the letter I need to assure they FAA that my eyes are OK! I may get to solo very soon!!!!

Stacy
Judith Ann <judith_ann59@...

No hurry, I thought December of 2029 would be a great date!! (JFK's papers will be released in November; I gotta have time to peruse that first! ;-) 'Course, I'll only be 70 and you'll still be a whippersnapper, so let's make it 20 years hence, eh? Or shoot, let's go 30!! I'd like to see 100! ;-)

By the way, I LOVE it!!! You fly, girl!! Let NOTHING ground ya!! No, not the FAA, not any future grandkids, ........ for SURE not this buzzard named Diabetes!! ;-)

I think your misunderstanding what I am saying. I also check my bloodsugar and use my pump anywhere in public. I only use the remote control if I'm wearing a dress or something else that I would have to lift up to use my pump because I can't see the numbers. It's really convenient because you hear the audio portion of the pump instead of basically having to do a strip tease to see your pump to give a bolus in public. I have never hidden my pump from anyone, If someone asks me I just tell them what it is. Most people thing it's a pager so they don't ask you many questions.

Hi,
I have the remote for my insulin pump. The only time I ever use it is when I'm wearing something that makes it impossible for me to see the pump and program it. I like the feature because then you don't have to go somewhere private to program your pump. Other than in this circumstance I never use the remote control.

Hm, I did not know there was a pump with remote control. I have been thinking of getting a pump, because of working such weird hours, and that may be the clincher. It is not the hiding part that is appealing, but the part about being able to see the numbers right in front of my face. With frozen shoulder, my ROM to twist to see the pump could be compromised. Also, my vision ain't what it used to be! Put contacts in to see far away, and put reading glasses on to see up close. So, a remote for those of us a bit ROM challenged as well as doing the middle age stretch (hold arm as far away as possible to see things that are small up close), the remote may be the way to go! Thanks for the info!
