Morning Lori, Joan, Folks...

Yes, understood about the whole neuropathy factor in their annoying warnings and standard prohibitions re: Sauna, or heck for showers too. However, for those of us who DON'T have it (Neuropathy) <shrug

NOW, regarding the whole Sauna having the same effect (sic increased) as a hot shower.... in lowering blood sugar as... Tina ASL emoticon maybe had suggested.... ??? What's the physiology behind that..... why would that be the case.... can anybody remember this one or even care to guess?

I had learned somewhere about it but can't recall the details.....

Funny, I've noticed that shower thing too.....anyone have any ideas on that??
Does she like to jump rope? Ride a bicycle? That's Becky's favorites, and when she's high, I tell her to go ride her bike for a while. Also, a hot shower will bring her down, I have no clue as to why that works.

Hello Vicky:

<<and when she's high, I tell her to go ride her bike for a while.

Hey, if it works excellent.... however, be very, very, very careful pretty please

If someone is truly high (however you'd account for that) c. 400-500+ ( ASL emoticon maybe, just picking numbers at random here).... but if you ARE spilling ketones, AND you exercise (attempting to bring it down) you run the serious risk of INCREASING the ketones & the sugars because the body sensing it needs energy for the exercise, but unable to access it... tells the liver to give you some so that you can go kill the saber tooth tiger (or whatever)... and have energy to do it. It will kick in whatever the ~emergency sugar reserves~ exist and break down the fat cells to find/get that energy....

Unfortunately, that can mean the exercise raises everything sugars & ketones and makes them worse (: (
Now injecting insulin into a site which IS being heavily exercised in the above ketone situation... (ie the leg, and doing dozens of slow leg squats <wg

[Side note: not really wild about the "nose dive effect" re: the sugar either. Extremely high (feeling like kitty litter), exercising hard, THEN having a two hundred point nose dive (or more <cringing

<<Also, a hot shower will bring her down, I have no clue as to why that works.

<!--more-->
<Massive shrug

Anyone?
Jeff <looking vexed & annoyed
