Carbs, Net Carbs, etc.
Greetings.
I’m reading through all the mounds of stuff provided to me by my
endocrinologist and dietician, and I’ve run into a question I can’t
get answered (I do have a call into my dietician, so I’ll get her
answer tomorrow, hopefully).
When counting carbs, do you use the total carb count or do you
subtract off carbs from fiber, Maltitol (whatever that is), etc?
I had my first almost-low last weekend (59), and I’m quite sure I
counted correctly. Just wondering if it’s because I included carbs
from fiber, or because I can’t add unless I first put the servings in
a spreadsheet.
Regards and thanks!

This is what we were told at carb counting 301…
Subtract “dietary fiber grams” from “total carb grams” when dietary fiber is 5 or more grams.
Good Luck!
