just got out of the hospital/have strange pain

Naomi,

The only bladder problem I may have is not knowing exactly when I have to go really bad. Otherwise, there is no pain. I have been diabetic for 36 years. There are times, however, that I get bladder infections. Then it hurts like hell. When it does hurt, I usually wait a day or two, (I know, that is not recommended), and drink an 8 ounce glass of water every 20 minutes to pee out any potential bacteria that may be in there. Buggers can’t swim worth a hoot. This seems to help.

It won’t help if you are NPO, and not allowed to take in anything by mouth, but once you are able to drink, then knock yourself out.

Also, there are muscle relaxers (phenergan) I use when I am sick to my stomach to be able to keep food down to avoid lows. In that instance, the food is usually coke. Then I sleep for a very long time, through anything.

I hope you are feeling better now, and, even with stones, water is supposed to help.

Joan

Hi Joan, when you get the bladder infections, there is an over the counter med called Uristat that helps a lot with the pain and burning. It’s just a lesser form of Pyridium. I use it once in a while for my bladder condition.
    Take care,

Thanks, Carol! Anything to avoid going to the doc and having him/her tell me what I already know. : )
