novolog and humalog
i have been in novolog for about 4 years and when my doctor called in
a new perscriotion for me i got humalog. could anyone tell me what the
difference between the 2 are and weather or not i should be more upset
that i haven’t heard back from my doctor since i called yesterday?

we were on humalog and our insurance changed us to novolog, I figure it must be cheaper for them to purchase.
Doctor said there was no difference when I expressed concern.

Are you sure the doctor called in the wrong thing, or did the pharmacy make
the substitution?
I’ve always used Humalog. I guess for many people there’s no difference,
but the two insulins do work differently for some people. I know some
people on an insulin pump list I belong to say that Novolog seems to work
faster, and is out of their body faster. Some people might find the
opposite is true. Since I’ve used Novolog only one time, when I first got
connected to my pump (that’s what the nurse gave me to put in) I can’t
really say how it worked for me.
So, there may be no problem if you use it, but then again you might find
that your body does react differently to it.
